Your data and privacy
- Other members see your name, publication, bio, categories, collab styles, subscriber count and Substack link, only while “Show me in the directory” is on in My profile.
- Nobody sees your email. It’s only used to send your sign-in codes.
- Private to you: your calendar, saved writers, badges and the writers you add from About pages. They’re saved to your account, so they follow you to any device.
- Shuttle: your chat stays on this device. To answer, your question and your profile and calendar summary are sent to Claude, the AI from Anthropic. Shuttle never messages anyone for you.
- Voice: Read aloud uses Shuttle’s Heart voice, which runs on your own device after a one-time download, so Shuttle’s answers stay on your device. If you choose “This device” in Display settings, your device’s built-in voice reads instead. If you speak a question, your browser turns it into text (in Chrome, using Google’s speech service).
Deleting removes your profile, calendar and everything else from ConnectStack for good.
